We are going up!

Sorry for the delay with the posts, Sunday was a lazy day after a rather busy and eventful Saturday.

The highlight of the weekend was probably the game we went between Southampton and Walsall, which the Saints won 3 - 1! It was a celebratory day because it confirmed the Saint's promotion into League 1, as well as being their last home game of the season. The game itself was good enough, with some great goals being scored! The fans were as good entertainment as the football, singing for long before and after the game. Can't wait to Anfield now!

Pre-game celebrations at St Mary's stadium

"If you're going up, stand up!"  - made Walsall supporters SIT! (literally)

So as you can see, it was quite the fiasco. It was all topped off with a (fully clothed) streaker and then a pitch invasion! We're just living the life of a football hooligan...

After the game we made our way to a pub, where the football fans gathered and had a few pints while singing their songs. Unfortunately for us, it appears that no girls support Saints... So we made our long way walking around town trying to find some take-away food (pub food = expensive crap), and ended up walking in the rain, at night, to a Burger King about 53924km away from the pub!

But all was not lost! We made our way back to the pub, and found that the people we were with had not wasted their drinking time as we had!

OOOSH! We got cheered up by a very merry Peter, who was loving his own jokes and making us laugh by ripping off South African accents. "White bread or brown bread?", "God left this place long time ago"....

Eventually we walked to another pub (again more rain), but it was as full as Adam's hair, so we went to a club called the Orange Room. Besides ripping us off for drinks, it was quite a good jol and Adam and I ended up staying there 'til quite late/early. Good times!

All in all it was a great day and we saw and did so much. The Sunday that followed was spent at home, watching soccer and NOT spending any more money! Will keep you posted on the events of this exciting new week! For more photos from the soccer, DRIB the jump!
